SPS Call for Volunteers
The Safety Pharmacology Society (SPS) relies on our dedicated member-volunteers to bring the mission and goals of the Society to fruition. We are now recruiting volunteers to serve on the 2014 Annual Meeting Program Committee (PC), as well as all the committees that our Society utilizes to support ongoing activities. We encourage current committee volunteers to continue their efforts, and ask those who have been contemplating serving to “take the plunge”” in 2014 and make a difference for SPS! Committee activities and time commitment vary, and just a few hours a month go a long way for the Society.
The 2014 SPS Annual Meeting will be held in Washington, DC. Although this meeting is one year away, planning has already begun! Volunteers are needed to participate on the Program Committee beginning in late September/early October. Volunteers for this committee should be an SPS member for at least 2-years, and will be expected to participate in scheduled teleconferences as well as attend the face-to-face meeting (if possible) to be held in Washington, DC in November 2013.
The Program Committee is responsible for programming the scientific content for the annual meeting, with members contributing to topic generation, speaker identification and recruitment, serving as Track Leaders, and organizing the flow of meeting topics.
The term for all volunteer committees is one year. If you currently serve on a committee and want to continue to serve in 2014, please submit your name through the appropriate link below.
Deadline for Volunteering: October 1 for Program Committee; October 15 for all other committees. Several of the committees can accept additional volunteers throughout the year, however, many of the committees are set by October 15 each year.
Volunteer now and be an active force in YOUR Safety Pharmacology Society!
