Outreach to Asia

If you have an interest in safety pharmacology as it relates to Asian activities and you have participated in the Outreach to Asia meetings you are welcome to participate in The Outreach to Asia SPShare Community. Both Society members and non-members are encouraged to join this collaborative network. Requests by non-members will be reviewed by the Outreach by Asia Committee and approved on a case-by-case basis. Once you have joined this vibrant community, you will receive notices from other participants on topics of interest and you are encouraged to share your thoughts and opinions. This forum is an excellent way to collaborate on current topics and to expand current mechanisms for exchanges. Please note that you can also discontinue your involvement in the Community at any time.

Outreach to Asia Mission Statement

The Safety Pharmacology Society has described its mission as promoting “...knowledge, development, application, and training in Safety Pharmacology, a distinct scientific discipline that integrates the best practices of pharmacology, physiology and toxicology. The objective of Safety Pharmacology studies is to further the discovery, development and safe use of biologically active chemical entities by the identification, monitoring and characterization of potentially undesirable pharmacodynamic activities in nonclinical studies. The Safety Pharmacology Society also supports the human safety of drugs and biologicals by fostering scientific research, education, and dissemination of scientific information through meetings and other scientific interactions.” To that end, the Society is strongly committed to serving members and non-members from around the world, including the Asian countries and through Outreach to Asia has initiated several working groups to facilitate this objective. These have included, programming through the Continuing Education Committee and Alterative Programming Committee, directed access to the Safety Pharmacology Society website through the Web site Committee, and partnering with other societies and institutions in promoting the common interests of the organizations.
